Even after some time to adjust, it is still difficult to see Tessa so sick. When Nurse Chris suctioned Tessa's nose this morning, it did not seem possible that she could be so congested. We know that the viral infection must run it's course but we pray that the congestion wil break up so that she can be more comfortable. Tessa had a good night last night but her x-ray and blood gas tests showed no improvement.
Her ventilator tube was allowing air to escape around it so today the respiratory therapist exchanged her tube for a larger one which created a better seal in her throat. This should do a better job maintaining pressure support which should increase air in the lungs and decrease blood carbon dioxide levels.
Tessa is enjoying her feedings and today they increased her milk to 22ml every 3 hours through her feeding tube. Becase of the ventilator, she is still not able to try bottle feeding. All systems are working because she had a bowel movement during the night and another one today. We are all so much happier when we get to eat. She is still on a daily diuretic to prevent excess fluids and last night her weight dropped again to just under 4lb 6oz.
They are not starting her steroid treatments until Dr. Spencer can examine her eyes again. He should be coming later today. It is possible that she may need additional surgery on her right eye. We pray for good report. The past week has been one of the most difficult for us both physically and emotionally. It is so easy to get discouraged. We sincerely appreciate everyone's prayers and support.
1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Keep you Faith! God will take care of Tessa and make her well. Please try and get some rest-mommy and daddy need it just as much as she does. I hope you find comfort in knowing that there are so many prayers being said for your family. Tessa has become such a big part of so many lives.

Our faith is sometimes tested and I'm sure it's very upseting to see little Tessa so sick. May both of you gain strength in knowing so many people are praying for your family. Remember tomorrow is a new day and lots can change in 24 hours. I have faith that Tessa will turn around and start feeling better really soon.
Always in my prayers,
Michele
All the Farm folk are praying for her.

We are all praying for the 3 of you. I'm sure it is easy to become discouraged with all that she is going through. May you find courage and renewed strength in Little Tessa's strength. She is a fighter, a trooper and truly one of God's angels! He is with you all. Please, please, please get lots of rest, I'm sure it is difficult, but know that rest will do all of you good. We are constantly thinking of you all and continously praying for you as well! We are sending every ounce of our love, prayers, thoughts, hugs and kisses!
Misti and all the crew!

It is great that Tessa is still accepting milk. This will help her in the days ahead. Keep the faith,
