Tessa continues to keep the doctors and nurses occupied today. She is doing very well and is tolerating her feedings. Daddy even got to feed her for the first time....not with a bottle as expected but he gave her milk nonetheless. They did skip a few of her feedings during the night because she still had some residual milk in her stomach. Getting her system started is a slow but steady process.
The doctor has asked for another echocardiogram and a chest x-ray today. Tessa continues to have frequent desats (oxygen desaturation of the blood). Her diastolic blood pressure also drops very low. It is possible that all of this could be caused by the PDA in her heart. The chest x-ray will show them how much fluid is in her lungs. There are many factors that influence Tessa's treatment and unfortunately there is not a definitive cause and effect. We are learning to wait on the Lord...all in his time and purpose.
Psalm 130:5
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

Thanks for the update. I pray the x-ray and echocardiogram give the doctors more to go on today in hopes they can figure out where the problem is.
Lots of thoughts and prayers your way as usual.
Love
Shelly
Hey Anthony, Nancy and SWEET baby Tessa,
Have been watching your poignant journey and sending most earnest thoughts and prayers your way. The blog is such a blessing. You could not possibly keep everyone updated without it and it will be a wonderful journal of this miraculous milestone to share with Tessa when she is old enough to understand. Don't forget to take good care of Tessa's mommy and daddy too!
Our girl seems to be getting a great crop of dark hair!
Be Well All,
Karen
