Very Sick

Unfortunately, Tessa is very sick but we believe that God is giving her strength. We learned today that in addition to the viral infection, Tessa also has a bacterial infection. Despite the difficulties, we are in better spirits today. Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement.
Even after the blood transfusion yesterday, Tessa was still anemic this morning so she received another blood transfusion today. Her potassium was also low so they have increased the amount of potassium in her hyperale liquid nutrition. The second artline(arterial line) inserted last night is working well so they no longer have to prick her heels for blood gas tests. Her latest blood gas test showed good carbon dioxide levels and her blood sugar was 94. The latest ventilator settings seem to be working in keeping her oxygenated and comfortable. Her chest x-ray still shows some lung collapse and excess fluid. They have given her an additional dose of the lasix diuretic for the excess fluid and she is eliminating fluids well. The pressure from the ventilator should help reinflate her lung tissue. She is now receiving fentanyl for sedation about every 3 hours and a bronchial dialator every 4 hours.
The bacterial infection is confirmed as pseudomonas which despite all precautions can be common in hospital environments. It is also in her respiratory system and could have be acquired anytime before or during surgery. Tessa is receiving an additional antibiotic today. She is on Vancomycin, Gentamicin and Zosyn. The antibiotics treat the bacterial infection but does not do anything to help her recover from the RSV(Respiratory Syncytial Virus). God will help her recover from this in time. Continue in prayer for Tessa but also for all the babies in the NICU as there are other families facing different but similar challenges in working towards getting their babies home too. God has given us each other and all of you for support and encouragement.

Numbers 11:17
And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

It's good that you feel better today. The Lord has been with Tessa through so much, he will help her through this too. Tessa feels your love and this will help her gain strength. We will continue in prayer for Tessa, her little neighbors as well as her loving parents. Great Mawmaw loved the picture you sent to her. I am updating her on Tessa and she continues to pray for her. Mawmaw said, God will heal her. She has the faith and that's what we will believe. We ask God to bless you and Nancy today and always. We Love you!

This is the day which the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Sometime it is hard to rejoice. I don't know why Tessa has to go through this, but I do know God is in control and he will see her through this, too. We are praying that He will touch her body and she will be going home soon. Anthony and Nancy, we are praying for you

Just wanted to let you know you are all three in our prayers.I feel in my heart that Tessa will be fine and she and MaKayla will be playing together soon. Although we've only known each other a few months I feel that a close bond has formed between our families so when you all are placed in my prayers you are considered more than friends but family. So give our little Tessa a hug and kiss from us and we will continue to pray her.
Love you all

I'm so sorry to learn that Little Tessa is so sick. As everyone has said God is watching over her and he will get her through this. She is so strong just like her parents. She feels your love when you're near her. God be with you at your time of need.
Love to all,

God continues to have his mighty hand on your little angel Tessa. Our God is an awesome God and he will heal Tessa and he has in the past. We know in our hearts that Tessa will overcome this as she has overcome everything else over the past months. I am glad to read that Mommy and Daddy are feeling better today. Keep your strong Faith in the Lord Almighty! Keep looking up! Lots of prayers going up for your family.

Love you guys,

We are glad to hear that ya'll are in better spirits today despite the circumstances. We are sorry to hear that Tessa is still so very sick but God will heal her if we have faith. Ya'll have been through so much lately. We are hoping very soon the roller coaster ride ya'll have been on for so long will be over and Tessa will be ok and will be ready to go home with Mommy & Daddy. We continue to pray for all 3 of ya'll. Thanks for taking the time to up-date us even though ya'll are so exhausted when you get home. Don't forget to keep your eyes to the skies. Tessa, we home you get better soon. Ya'll are continuously in our thoughts and prayers.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
