Tessa is such a strong little girl. It is hard to describe or imagine what she has been through this week alone. We thank God daily for her strength and know that he is with her always.
Currently, they are in the process of inserting Tessa's PICC line. This line can be used to administer fluids and medications into her bloodstream instead of an IV which has to be replaced frequently. Her IV in her foot had to be removed today because it was not flushing properly.
Because of the RSV, Tessa is still having lots of respiratory secretions and has to be suctioned frequently. This causes bronchial spasms and dramatic drops in her blood oxygen saturation. When this happens, she turns a dusky purple color and they have had to use the ambu bag several times today to bring her oxygen levels back up. Her blood gas tests today once again have shown elevated carbon dioxide levels. Obviously, this is very frightening but we must believe that God is guiding the work of the doctors, respiratory therapists and nurses as they do what is necessary to help her fight these infections.
They did resume Tessa's feedings today. She is receiving 10ml of milk every 3 hours through a feeding tube. So far she has handled this well. We pray that this is a sign of more progress in the days to come.
Daniel 4:3
How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

Anthony, what a chronicle for Tessa to cry and smile by in a few years. Your and Nancy's faithfulness will surely be rewarded! I sense the Holy Spirit everytime I check in to this blog. May he keep all 3 of you and His team of NICU nurses wrapped in his loving arms!

I can only imagine how hard it is for you to see your little angel going through all of this. But as in the past, she will continue to progress and be back on track to getting home very soon. God continues to have his mighty hand on Tessa as well as mommy and daddy. HE will keep her safe. Keep up the Faith that you two have shown throughout the past 101 days. Our God is an awesome God and he will give the doctors and nurses the knowledge they need to take care of Tessa. Your family is in my constant thoughts and prayers.
Love you guys,
Melissa
We continue to pray that little Tessa will soon be feeling better. I'm sure all of this is very frightening but know that God is watching over all 3 of you. Hang in there, you have so many praying for your entire family! We continue with our prayers! Sending all our love!

We agree that ya'll have a very strong little girl. Teesa has been such a trooper and fighter since she was born. We're sorry to hear that Tessa has had sort of an "off" day again today. We just continue to keep ya'll in our thoughts and prayers every day and hope it won't be long before Tessa's back to normal. Tessa, we are thinking and praying for you. Please get better soon.
