Starting to Stir

Tessa has been heavily sedated all day but we thank God that the laser eye surgery went well. Just as we were leaving this evening she was beginning to move around a little bit. She would grip our fingers with her hand and move her toes in response to us touching her feet. Maybe we will be able to gaze into those beautiful brown eyes sometime tomorrow.
They are weaning her off the ventilator. Each time the respiratory therapist collected a blood gas sample they were able to lower the settings on the vent. We hope that she can come off the ventilator some time during the night or early tomorrow. She has not received anything by mouth today so if she can come off the vent she may be able to resume her feedings tomorrow. Tessa gained nearly 6 ounces today to 4lb 12oz but the excess weight is a result of all the IV fluids. She is very puffy and swollen but her weight should decrease as she comes off the supplemental fluids. Tomorrow dawns a new day and we look forward to a much better one tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for your many, many prayers today.

Ecclesiastes 11:7
Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun:

Good morning Nancy, Anthony and Little Tessa! We are hopeful that all 3 of you had a restful night. I'm happy to hear the surgery went well and we know that God is watching over your little angel! He has been with you all from the very beginning and he knows what is best for Little Tessa! Her rest is so important right now and so is yours (so please remember to try to get as much as possible). We are sending all our love, hugs and kisses! Hope you all have a great day!

Be encouraged that in God's time you will see the dreams and visions fulfilled that God has given you. DON'T EVER GIVE UP. "And so it was that he [Abraham] having waited long and endured patiently, realized and obtained what God had promised him." Hebrews 6:15
