Swaddled

Mommy and daddy got to hold their little girl as soon as they arrived at the hospital this morning. What a treat! Nurse Linda already had her swaddled and ready to play.
Today they increased her feedings from 21ml per feeding to 23ml. This is considered full feedings based on her size. She is still having some reflux and occasional bradycardia but it is expected that these issues will go away as she grows.
The lactation consultant met with Nancy and Tessa today to practice breast feeding. Tessa still seems only mildly interested but Leslie assured us that she is doing very good for her gestational age. She should gain interest as she gets older.
Tessa also had a appointment with the eye doctor again this evening. He dialates her eyes with drops, holds each eye open with an examination tool and then uses a magnifying glass to look at each retina. It is not comfortable but Tessa tolerated it well. Dr. Spencer diagnosed her with stage 1 retinopathy of prematurity. Stage 1 and stage 2 usually require no treatment but corrects with time. We pray that the retinopathy will not progress any further and we know that God answers prayer. All we have to do is to look at her progress so far. We want to always believe in everything that we ask in Gods name that his will be done. Thanks again to everyone for their continuing prayers and support.

Acts 28:24
And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

Oh my goodness, she is just precious! Thank you guys so much for sharing your journey with us through this blog. It has been so much fun to be able to watch her grow and see God answer so many prayers!

I've missed seeing you and catching up, so hopefully I'll get to come by again soon!

I'm so thankful for Tessa's continued improvement, as I know everyone else is, too!

Talk to you soon!

She is beautiful! She is growing so much with each new picture! I'm glad to hear that her feedings are going so well and that her eye appointment went fairly well. I'm sure her body will "outgrow" many things in time, we will all continue in prayer. Enjoy your day! Sending all our love, hugs and kisses!
