Tough Day

There's no denying that it has been a tough day for us here. We are very concerned for Tessa's well-being and hope that they can diagnose the cause of her sudden decline. This reminds us that her health is still very fragile and that we need to be diligent in prayer. The neonatalogist tells us that the symptoms indicate a bacterial infection. It is so difficult to see her connected to so many wires and tubes....more now than ever.
They have connected her to a different type of ventilator called an oscillator. This will help her maintain acceptable blood gas levels and is easier on her lungs but it makes lots of noise and causes her whole body to vibrate. Today she has received over 9 different IV injections: blood, lipids, glucose mixture, blood pressure and kidney medications, clear fluids, pain medication and 3 different antibiotics. At one point they had 6 different infusions going simultaneously. This is very hard for us. She is such a small little girl and has gone through so much.
Her blood gas levels are back within an acceptable range and they hope to begin weaning her off the ventilator once again. We know that God can give her strength to endure. He will provide us strength as well.

2 Timothy 2:3
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

I'm sorry to hear the news of a bad day and such ups and downs. Dear little Tessa really is a fighter and she can overcome this with God's help and all of our prayers.

I know her parents will keep up their strength and she will take the example from them. She is a very lucky little girl.

Lots of love and prayers to you three,
Bev

At least you both can spend the entire weekend with her and that should help all of you.
I'm praying for you all.
