Unfortunately, Little Miss Tessa did not have a good night last night. The nurse practitioner contacted us during the night to let us know that they were going to be putting Tessa back on the ventilator so she could rest. They suspect that she may have an infection. She had several periods of respiratory trouble during the night and the nurses were having trouble getting blood pressure readings. She received a blood transfusion during the night and another one this morning to boost her hemaglobin and hematocrit. They have started her on antibiotics and medication that raises her blood pressure and increases kidney function. Her urine output is very low at the moment and they also want to do a urinalysis. At the moment, they have stopped her feeding of breast milk and sedated her to prevent any complications. They will be doing frequent tests throughout the day so they are currently putting in a artline (radial arterial line) into her arm or leg. This is similar to the umbilical catheter they had in previously. This will allow them to take blood as needed without having to prick her each time. Obviously we prefer good news but God tells us in his word to be patient in tribulation and he continues to give us comfort and peace through the support of all of you and your prayers.

With all good there has to be some bad! She is going to be just fine. She is in the best possible place, they know what they are doing. We have to tke the bad to get to the good. Remeber the ole saying "there is good in all bad"
Just wanting to drop you a line to let you know I'm still keeping up and praying for you all. I know it had to be scary getting a phone call in the night. First thought would be of Tessa. Tessa will be 2 weeks old tomorrow! (And in total 26 weeks) She is a real fighter. It does not sound bad to me of keeping her on the respirator a while to let her body rest and develop a little more. I know she cannot eat with it in but she is only 26 weeks and doing amazing! Wishing Tessa a restful day to restore her body and store away some extra strength.

Hilda is right, with all good there has to be some bad although none of us wish that on precious little Tessa. She's been so tough through the last 2 weeks and she'll fight whatever has got her down. I wish I could be there with you!!

Sorry to hear Tessa is having a rough day. It must be very hard for you and her to deal with such set backs, but she is going to be fine. You are in our thoughts and prayers. She is in a great hands and has already come so far. Trust in God that better days will be here soon.

Tessa still looks good to me! My friend's daughter that I was telling you about weighed less than Tessa at birth. She reminded me of that on yesterday. GOD is good and He works on His own time. TIME will play a very important role in Tessa's growth and healing. The Lord will see you both through.
