We have watched it snow and rain outside Tessa's window today. It is her first snow and she is sleeping the day away. The sedatives she is receiving has her more comfortable and she is very relaxed. They do not want her completely "snowed" so she does move around every once in a while.
They have adjusted the canula in her neck a couple of times today to get better oxygen saturations. Her latest blood gas tests have been good and her urine output is above their goal of 10ml per hour. They also frequently adjust the flow on the ECMO pump to maintain acceptable blood gas levels.
Getting Tessa well has been a long process and we are trying our best to be patient and wait on the Lord. Several of the ECMO specialists have told us that it is a marathon...not a sprint. We will wait as long as it takes and it will be a truly joyful day when we get to take her home.

We are so happy to hear encouraging news about Baby Tessa. We continue to praise God for all of his marvelous works!
Just to let you know there's not a day that goes by that I'm not thinking about Tessa. She has truly gripped my heart, as well as her beautiful parents. All of us at Women's have to check up on her often, so in a way, she's still very much with us all there. Tessa is constantly in my prayers and thoughts. Rest well, Mommy and Daddy. Little Tessa's first snowfall, there is something very peaceful about the snow, it truly is like a blanket wrapped around the outside world. It sounds like Little Tessa has had a peaceful day also and she has God as her blanket, he is wrapped all around her. We are so thankful that she is stable and has had a good day, we praise God for his continued work. We hope that you and Anthony have had a peaceful day also watching both your precious daughter and the beautiful snow. We hope that the 3 of you get lots of rest tonight and find the weekend filled with more wonderful news of Little Tessa's health. As for the marathon, we know that Little Tessa is just fine "pacing" herself, she has proven that many times since September 29th! Sending all our love, hugs, kisses, thoughts and prayers!

We are so glad to hear that ya'll enjoyed the snow even though Tessa slept through it. We are also glad to hear that Tessa has more good news to share with us. Any small thing is still good. We know that ya'll are so ready to take your Little girl home. Ya'll have got to be getting so tired of "hospital life". (not to mention Tessa is too I'm sure) I know that having to wait isn't fun either but we all want whats best for Tessa and ya'llI'm sure are willing to wait as long as it takes to get her better and to be able to take her home and live a regular life. We already told ya'll, there are alot of people who are going to stand behind ya'll every step of the way. No matter how long it takes. We love ya'll and hope that this nightmare will end for ya'll very soon and that Tessa will get better real soon. Ya'll can expect alot of screaming and shouting when the day comes that you do get to bring Tessa home. I know we feel like in some ways we've been on this roller coaster ride with ya'll.
