Tessa has been stable today. She has responded well to the oscillator and her oxygen saturations have been in the 80s and 90s. She was struggling earlier in the day so Nurse Amy placed her on her stomach. She likes being on her belly and her saturations have been good all afternoon. Her desaturations have been infrequent but when they occur her blood oxygen levels drop to the 30s. We pray that this will improve.
They delayed her eye examination today. Dr. Ransom did not feel that she was stable enough to tolerate the change in position and the exam itself. She has a tendency to tense up and drop her saturations when overstimulated. Although eyesight in her right eye is very important we agreed that it would be better to wait. If needed, eye surgery could not be scheduled immediately so there is no benefit to proceeding with the exam right now. The risk is greater than the benefit.
One major concern is Tessa's current oxygen requirement. The oscillator is giving her 100% oxygen because with pneumonia her lungs are not efficient at oxygenating the blood. This can irritate the lungs and contributes to her chronic lung disease further compromising her respiratory system. She is still very sick and if she desats, the doctors have few options for bringing her levels back up.
Dr. Ransom is evaluating Tessa's latest blood gas tests and consulting with other doctors here and at Brenner's to determine the best possible treatment for Tessa. It is possible that he may recommend a transfer back to Brenners Childrens Hospital. He hopes to share some more information with us later this evening. We ask God for wisdom in making the best choices for Tessa.

Patience - so very difficult to practice! Just know that God is in control (always) and He is letting Tessa rest and grow stronger while the rest of us wait for changes. There are good signs of healing and improvement. We must all be patient and put our faith in the Lord. God bless you.

Angie just called to ask for prayer for you all. My husband and I are agreeing with you that God is healing your beautiful daughter minute by minute. His ways are higher than our ways. God knew Tessa before she was even knitted in her mother's womb as Psalm 139 tells us. I'll close with Isaiah 40:31 "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint". Tessa will get better, she will not suffer any ill effects from any of her treatments and she will come home soon as a happy, healthy and very blessed baby girl.... IN JESUS' NAME WE PRAY, AMEN AND AMEN AGAIN!!

We're sorry to hear that your little girl is not doing as well as what she needs to be. I know that her "high sats" have got to worry ya'll. It's got to be difficult trying to make the best decisions for Tessa. Just remember to trust in God to help you make what you think is the right decision. God is going to heal Tessa in his time. You know what people say "sometimes God's timing is not our timing" Please remember that ya'll have alot of people thinking and praying for you in this difficult time. Please try to lean on God and your friends right now. Ya'll are very great parents, so I know ya'll will make the right decisions reguarding Tessa and whether she needs to be transfered to Brenners or not. We will hate to see ya'll go if you have to, but again everyone wants what's best for little Tessa! We'll keep ya'll in our thoughts and prayers. Plese all 3 of ya'll get some rest. We love ya'll.

WE ARE STILL PRAYING EVERYDAY SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I KNOW THAT GOD WILL HEAR ALL OF THE PRAYERS AND FULLY HEAL TESSA. WITH THE HELP OF GOD THE DOCTORS AT WOMENS KNOW WHAT IS BEST. IF ANOTHER HOSPITAL IS WHAT TESSA NEEDS, THEY WILL SURELY SEND HER THERE. WE KNOW ONLY TO WELL ABOUT THE NICU ROLLERCOASTER AND THE BABY STEPS TOWARD GETTING WELL. BUT WITH ALOT OF PATIENTS AND THE GRACE OF THE GOD THESE BABY STEPS AND THE HEALING PROCESS WILL GROW EVERYDAY.
WE FOUND OUT YESTERDAY THAT OUR NEXT ROLLERCOASTER RIDE WILL TAKE PLACE IN CHAPEL HILL INSTEAD OF AT CONE. BUT I KNOW SOON THAT THESE TWO LITTLE GIRLS WILL HAVE ALL OF THIS BEHIND THEM. AND ALL OF THIS WILL BE A LIKE A BAD DREAM. STAY IN TOUCH AND WE WILL BE SEEING YOU SOON.

God is healing Tessa. Like was already said....God's timing is not always our timing. Tessa has been a strong fighter since she made her entrance in this world and she will continue to do so. I hope you find comfort in knowing that you have so many people praying for your family. Keep the strong faith in our Lord that you have always shown. You are in my constant thoughts and prayers.
