Tessa drank some milk from a bottle for the first time today. It was only a small amount (about 4ml) but she did well. The faces she made at first were priceless. We all laughed and enjoyed watching her responses. As anticipated, she had some problems with her breathing and some minor bradycardia when feeding. These issues will diminish as she learns how to suck, swallow the milk and breathe simultaneously. Otherwise, she had only one bradycardia today. This is a big improvement over yesterday. We are thankful.
She continued to receive milk through her stomach tube today. The nurses are now giving her 21ml over a one hour period that is repeated every three hours. Her weight today was 2lb 11oz. She is doing great and to God be the glory and honour for his perfect work.

what a way to start my day...seeing Tessa drink from her bottle....what a moment that was...I bet mommy & daddy were sooooooo excited...I will call grandma this morning and give her the exciting news...pretty soon she will get the hang of it...
