Energy Drink

As we arrived this morning, Nurse Linda was making Tessa her energy drink, a combination of breast milk, HMF (Human Milk Fortifier), Zantac and an iron supplement. Tessa was sleeping soundly. She received an x-ray and blood tests during the night.
Tessa may also need a boost of caffeine today because she is having more frequent bradycardia this morning where her heart rate and oxygen saturation drop simultaneously. The doctors, pharmacists, and nursing staff will discuss this during rounds. Bradycardia is common in preemies but we pray that the doctors and nursing staff will be able to bring them under control. On a good note, Tessa's blood tests during the night showed that her hematocrit in her blood is rising. This means that the epo (erythropoietin) is working and she is producing her own blood cells. Thanks be to God.

Psalm 118:28
You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you.

She looks so peaceful in this picture! Please know that God is with you all and will watch over little Tessa. I'm sure he will guide the doctors and nurses in making the decisions regarding the bradycardia. I am happy to hear that her blood tests came back with good news. We are praying also about her eye exam. May you continue to find comfort in all of her strides, she has come so far and will meet each new challenge with a positive attitude. We continue with our thoughts and prayers! Sending all our love!

I have many favorite bible verses. One of them is Joshua 1:9. Joshua is about ready to step into a new land and he doesn't know what he will find. The unknown is scary, the reports Joshua received were about giants in the land. Here are God's words, " Have I not commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afrad nor dismayed for the Lord God is with you wherever you go." When there is nothing to do but wait, we can wait pryerfully and go into each new day as Joshua did the new land.

Little Tessa sure looks like she is resting peacefully. I'm sorry to hear about her bradycardia trouble today. Please keep in mind that God is still in control and has been with ya'll through alot so far. Please don't get too discouraged! At least she is making progress with her blood tests. Thank God for that! I can't wait to hear what Tessa's eye tests reveal. I'm sure the tests will come back with good news. We are praying for ya'll every day! May you find encouragement knowing that ya'll have alot of people who love, care and pray for ya'll on a regular basis! Keep your eyes looking up!
