We just returned from the NICU and received a wonderful surprise from the nurse practitioner. They have taken Tessa off her ventilator. She is breathing completely on her own.
I know that she still appears to have a lot of tubes and wires but we were thrilled. She still has an oxygen tube and it takes up more space on her face than did the respirator but there is no tube running down her throat. The nurse says that we may even hear her crying softly now.
She has been given a small pacifier and is now allowed to sleep on her stomach. This should be more comfortable for her. She is also wearing a stocking cap. It is very cute. This is used to help keep her oxygen tube in place. For the first time, we got to see her entire little mouth. It is perfect and she is so very special.

No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.

And you look amazing! I've put you all on our prayer chain at church....you have a long journey ahead, so a little extra company won't hurt!

Anthony & Nancy, what great news. It's great being able to keep up-to-date on everything. You have a wonderful man for doing this for all of us. I'm constantly checking on updates. She is the most precious lil girl - I'm keeping all of you in our prayers. Isn't parenthood wonderful - it is definetly a different kind of love once you have babies. Love to all Dorie
I just logged in and of course I have already called everyone to let them know and to go to the website themselves! I even had Tottie to wake up Granny Bibby and let her know! I am so excited and I know my excitement does not compare to yours. Love you all!! Tell Tessa that Aunt Angie can't wait to see her again.
Nancy,
What great news! Ever since you gave me this web address I have been checking for updates. It's great to get good ones. She is so precious. Congratulations again. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully one day soon we will be able to meet little Miss Tessa.
Try to enjoy your first night at home and get some rest.
PS: Once Tessa is home you won't get much sleep.

Great News Nancy,Anthonynd Tessa!!! What can I say? All prayers have been answered and precious Tessa has to be feeling better without the tube. I wish you comfort tonight and keep the good news coming. I'll be looking forward to the next update.

WOW, this is awesome! Hilda called me with the site so now I can be a part of it all. Just to look at the changes that have taken place thus far. It's amazing! Reminds me of when Mikaela was born. You know she spent time in the NICU. But God is good and with all the prayers little Tessa will be out and about in no time. You've heard that already I'm sure "time flies be sure to enjoy it" This will all be a blur in a few years.
Love and Prayers to all,
Cathy Moran Enos
