Rest for the Weary

We will soon be leaving the hospital tonight and to say that we are tired is an understatement. The days are long but this is where our hearts are so this is where we need to be right now...with our little girl. God has blessed Tessa with a great day today so tonight we should be able to get some rest. Continue to lift all three of us up in prayer.
We have talked frequently with the nurses and doctors today and received lots of good news. Tessa's blood gas test results and blood pressure have been very, very good. They have almost completely taken her off the blood pressure medications and dramatically reduced the settings on the oscillator. As long as she is on the oscillator, they will keep her slightly sedated but she has opened her eyes and looked around a few times today. She has not needed any additional blood transfusions. The blood cultures have yet to show an infection but they have kept her on the antibiotics as a precaution. They will keep the cultures for five days checking for infection. Her blood sugar levels still fluctuate but they are continuing to treat this with low dose insulin. She is still a little swollen but her output of fluids is very good. She even had a bowel movement today. We are easily excited.
Her problems yesterday may or may not have been caused by an infection. It may have just been a signal to change her treatment and dosage of medications. Regardless, God has touched her in a great way.
