When she is ready, we will be glad to see Tessa come off the high frequency jet ventilator. It is supposed the be easier on her lungs but it makes her body jiggle and vibrate continuously. Actually, it will be great for her to come off the ventilator altogether so that we can once again gaze on her pretty little face without all that tape. We can hardly wait. Our neighbor "Aunt Fran" spent the morning and had lunch here at the hospital with us today. She brought us additional neccessities from home. We enjoyed her company and her support. Thanks Fran!
Tessa's assignment for today was to get her blood gases on track. She is slowly working on it. They just completed an x-ray to check the position of her ventilator tube and adjusted the tube about 1/2 cm. Proper placement of the tube is important to achieve even expansion in both lungs, oxygen saturation and good blood gases. Dr. Parsons took the time to sit down with us today and review Tessa's x-rays. We were able to see firsthand how the tube should be placed relative to her collarbones and the bronchi which distribute air into the right and left lungs. Small movements of her head or chin can change the position of this tube. The respiratory therapists check the position of the tube frequently.
They will continue monitoring Tessa's blood gases and vital signs throughout the night. During rounds tomorrow morning, the doctors and nurses will discuss her progress and schedule the surgery time for Thursday if Tessa is ready. It is truly remarkable to witness the process of treating all of these little babies in the NICU. Currently there are 8 babies in our room and around 35 in the unit all together. We pray for each of them daily. The Lord has granted our medical professionals great wisdom.

I know ya'll are eager to see her face again without all the tape and stuff, but you know God knows what's best for little Tessa! She is still a little angel with or without all that tape and stuff all over her! Also, she is such a little fighter! She has been through so much already! Just think what all you will get to share with her when she gets older. She will be well known throughout all the world huh? She will be so amazed how many people have been thinking and praying for her through all this! Also, she will be so glad to know how great and special her parents are!Nancy and Anthony, ya'll have been so strong through this whole thing and have been such a blessing to alot of people! I hope God continues to bless you! We will be praying for ya'll and the other babies and their families as well that are in there with ya'll!

Good morning Woodyard family. I hope all three of you had a good night and got some needed rest. You have such a fighter on your hands! Look out when she is a teenager! I am so glad to hear that the doctors and nurses are keeping you well informed. You have wonderful people taking care of your little angel. They are truly a gift from God. I pray for good news today when you meet with the doctors. If God feels that Tessa is ready for the surgery then it will happen. Everything happens on his time - not ours. Hey Family
I am excited everyday to come home and read this when i get off work. I always am texting mom in school asking if any new news about Tess lol i mean TESSA=) She is so cute and i am glad that she has a bow now purple is so cute on here.. let her know her cousin ate enough candy for her to today since she cant really eat any. Well thanks for keeping us posted and i look foward to seeing yall soon.. i know granny waits to here about tessa everyday..
