Going on a Trip

Good Morning to all. Tessa had a very good night last night. She did have one major desat this morning. It does seem that the desats are related to the PDA in her heart. She has been taken off all medications except for a diuretic that was started yesterday. We praise the Lord for this. She has not even needed any sedatives.
The doctors have reviewed the results of the echocardiogram. Unfortunately, it shows no change since the last one on Wednesday of last week and still shows a moderate sized PDA. Because of this, they have made the decision to transfer Tessa to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem for surgery and ligation of the PDA. The doctors there will evaluate her case before making a final decision about surgery. If they decide to do surgery, they will make a small incision in her back and close the artery using a small metal clamp. Do lift us us in prayer continually over the next couple of days. We certainly need your prayers and God's help at this moment. This is not the outcome that we had hoped for... but we know that our God heals our bodies through surgery as well. The doctors and nurses think that we will begin to see great progress after the ligation of the PDA is complete.
We also received the results of the cranial ultrasound (brain scan). It also shows no change since the last scan. In this, we rejoice. Thanks to all of you for your support and to the NICU staff here at Women's Hospital for their wisdom. We hope to transfer back here soon after the surgery is complete. We pray for wisdom for the surgeon at Baptist Hospital and for a good transfer there and back.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Deuteronomy 26:11
And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee

God will continue to take care of Tessa. His hands will be on her (as well as Mommy and Daddy) during the transfers and the surgery if it is to take place. Continue to Keep the Faith! Praise God that the cranial ultrasound showed no change. As always, you are in my constant thoughts and prayers.

Love you guys,
Melissa

You three will be in our thoughts and prayers while you are in Winston-Salem. Yes, God does heal our bodies through surgery.

We will be praying for Tessa's complete recovery if surgery is necessary. Being a strong willed little girl is definitely in Tessa's favor.

Take care Nancy and Anthony and we will be looking for an update when you can.

Much love,
Bev
