Footprints

It is Thursday night and we have just returned home for the evening. The days are long and tiring but very worth it. We have a beautiful little girl... Just like God's love, the love we have for her is instantaneous, perfect and unconditional.
Tessa had her footprints stamped today. They are so cute. She also resumed her feedings. They are giving her .3 ml of breast milk per hour delivered slowly through a syringe attached to a tube that goes into her stomach. If this goes well, they will gradually increase her rate.
All in all, we have had another good day with some expected ups and downs. She continues to do well on the nasal cannula and has rested peacefully today. Blood sugar levels are still within expected range. There were a few instances where her blood oxygen saturation dropped below normal and a few bradycardia occurrences. We have faith that these will decrease in time. She may be getting dehydrated again so they gave her fluids this evening. She will also be receiving another blood transfusion tonight because her blood pressure is low. Blood gas tests indicate some acidosis (acidity of the blood) so in the past couple of days she has received a few injections of sodium bicarbonate to control this. Her latest weight was 1lb 7oz....a gain of 3 oz. Where it came from, we don't know, but we'll take it. We feel your prayers daily and believe that God who has begun his work in her will faithfully continue her healing process.

Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ

You don't know me, but I check in on Baby Tessa several times each day and pray for her and her parents. God has given you a mission field in the NICU and far beyond through your blog.

Hi Nancy and Anthony

It would appear that Tessa is a real fighter and also that she knows that there are alot of people who love her and are pulling for her. The pictures of you guys holding her are just really something.

Take care and love to all
Kathy
