Tessa is resting comfortably without having to have any sedation so far today. She did give us a scare last night with a couple of desats but is recovering well. A desat (oxygen desaturation) is a temporary drop in the oxygen levels of her blood below the normal range. Also last night she was battling very low blood sugar. This is surprising because her blood sugar has been excessively high. The nurse gave her glucose to bring this back up and it was discovered that last night the mechanical pump system was not giving her enough of the hyperale liquid nutrition that is connected to her PICC line IV. This was fixed and her ventilator tube was suctioned to remove any secretions. Now things are fine and she is sleeping.
The x-ray of her lungs looked better today. The doctors have discussed the possibility that there may be some extra fluid in her lungs. They are considering putting her on a diuretic. This may help control the oxygen desaturations.
We are grateful to the doctors and nurses for keeping our little girl healthy and to the Lord above for directing their work.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Thanks so much for the update. Tessa is constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad to hear she's resting comfortably and I hope they get that extra fluid taken care of.
I am glad to hear that Tessa is resting today. After her rough spot last night rest is what she needs. Praise God that her x-ray looked good today. Keep "looking up" and Keep the Faith. Thoughts and prayers your way..
Love,
Melissa
It was nice to get a better update this afternoon. So glad that Tessa is resting comfortably and that things are looking better.
Hope the fluid problem has been remedied by the next update. Until then, you three are in our thoughts and prayers continually.
Live each present moment completely, and the
future will take care of itself. Fully enjoy the wonder
and beauty of each instant. Practice the presence of
peace. The more you do that, the more you will feel the
presence of that power in your life.
